Nella Mills-Mahoney named A&M General Manager - Newburgh, NY -- July 29, 2005

Nella Mills-Mahoney has been named General Manager of Abbott and Mills Oil Heat in Newburgh. Nella takes the reigns from her brother and long time GM Ralph L Mills. She has been with Abbott & Mills since 1980 and most recently served as Service Manager.

Nella who is a Past President and the current Treasurer of the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council becomes General Manager during a critical time for the oil heat industry. Still, she says she is looking forward to helping steer Abbott & Mills into a new era.

According to Mills-Mahoney, "There is great uncertainty in the industry right now. And, dealing with that uncertainty means being open to new models of business and letting go of some of the old ways. Things that worked in 1950 clearly will not work in today's marketplace. We are taking steps to assure that Abbott & Mills keeps our position as an industry leader in the Hudson Valley, and continues to grow and serve our customers."

To get a new perspective on the business, Mills-Mahoney will be serving on and consulting with a new Advisory Board that will be chaired by outgoing Abbott & Mills' General Manager Ralph L. Mills. The idea behind the Advisory Board, according to Mills-Mahoney, is to bring in fresh perspectives from professionals outside the oil heat industry.

Abbott & Mills Oil Heat is a 70-year-old family run business servicing the residents of Orange, Ulster and Dutchess Counties. Abbott & Mills provides a multitude of services including, but not limited to, automatic fuel oil delivery, price caps, budget plans and service contracts.
